My name is Riley Lamarre, I’m getting top surgery on January 22nd!

I’m currently in school for my bachelor’s degree in social work, I work a part time job, and I’m a freelance theater tech/stage manager in my freetime. I love writing, knitting, reading, and sitting with my cats.

I’ve been out as a nonbinary person for almost 10 years now, and in many ways I am a lot more comfortable and confident than I used to be. I still experience gender dysphoria though, and top surgery will help continue to repair the disconnect I feel with myself. I’m very excited to feel more comfortable in my body and my existence.

Top surgery can be expensive even with insurance, and I’m very lucky to have an insurance currently that will cover the cost of it entirely. Unfortunately I won’t be able to work for 3-6 weeks post-surgery, and my job doesn’t have any form of leave for part time employees.

This means that I will have no income for over a month after the surgery. The money I raise through this campaign will help pay for rent and utilities during my recovery period, and any other small necessities such as cat food and litter, until I am able to work again.
