This is Riku, your favorite ten-year-old neighborhood chihuahua. I have had Riku since he was two months old, and I couldn't imagine what my life would have been like if he wasn't in it. He's my very first pet, and he taught me how to truly care for something that wasn't myself. He helped get me through some of the hardest times in my life with his comfort and love. Riku has also changed a lot of minds about the stigma and stereotypes of owning a chihuahua. He has always been docile and caring towards every person he meets, and he continues to have everyone fall in love with him.
On Sunday, November 3rd, Riku was brought into the animal hospital for vomiting and dehydration. After some bloodwork and ultrasounds were performed, he was diagnosed with a gallbladder infection. The infection is slowly healing with antibiotics, but there is still an underlying condition that's causing him to vomit. He hasn't been able to eat anything in three days, and the vet has informed me that a possible feeding tube might be placed if Riku can't keep any food down. With the cost of his medical bills rising with his current hospital stay, I'm asking if you can contribute anything to help cover the costs. If you are unable to, please share this on any platform or with any person.
I truly believe Riku still has a lot of life to live, and he will hopefully recover from this and be home again soon!
