Please help our family with urgent move

Hi, my name is Rikki. For friends and family who know us, you know that we have had a really hard few years. One of our children had to move back home after contracting a serious brain illness. The old saying that it takes one serious illness to knock out your finances is correct. We also have two special needs autistic sons. We spent most of Covid shutdown just fighting to keep our kid alive. It was the scariest and hardest thing we have ever been through. Our child was in and out of the hospital over 8 times in two years. Our child is stable now and thriving and we are trying to get a fresh start for each of us.

we felt as if we were final long getting on our feet financially when our landlord notified us that they will be selling the house we have rented for the past eight years, and we have to move out by May 25th.

Having special needs kids makes this news especially hard. My husband Matt and I are trying to make this massive move more manageable for them and help them get set up to live independently.
All three of our children are over 18 but have continued to live with us for support because rents are so high here. The oldest two are planning on moving to campuses in June so they can continue their college degrees.
Matt and I have struggled for the past three years financially. Being able to come up with any extra money to help us move is just not possible. (We are selling most of our belongings and putting those funds towards the move.)

We’re hoping to save up enough to be able to move our two oldest children to new communities with better opportunities and living situations, so they can concentrate on their coursework. A large portion of this fundraiser will go to rent and deposits for these kids.

Matt and I, along with our youngest, will be moving south to be closer to family.

We are hoping to get help with getting our rent current ($5,000) and our utilities paid ($2,000 total). We also will need to come up with funds for a one-day rental of a moving van that we will use to get everyone moved into their own apartments ($100). We are also adding their first month's rent and security deposit for both kids to this fundraiser ($1,800 and $1,000). Finally, there will be a week where the two oldest won’t have access to housing, so we are also asking for help to pay for a week of stay at an extended stay ($850).

Matt, Quinn, Rosie, and I will be staying with my parents for the summer so we can work and FINALLY get our feet under us. We have both been job searching for three years now, and we know that ageism in tech is playing a part in that. Being in Colorado City will put us close to new opportunities in Pueblo and Colorado Springs. These areas are notoriously pro-veteran, so we feel like there will be better employment opportunities there. Being at my folks' will also be wonderful as they are getting older, and we will be able to help them.

Any support you can give us is greatly appreciated and will help close this chapter and begin the next. Any little bit will help. Thank you in advance.
