Hi, my name is Rihanna and I was involved in an apartment fire with my husband Christian and his son on August 6, 2025. I’m also pregnant with our baby girl.

I was in the apartment awake early around 5 am on my phone, waiting for Christian to get home from work. I then heard banging on the door, so I called him, and he said it wasn’t him. I thought someone was breaking in, and I heard glass shatter. I looked out the door, and the whole living room was on fire. I got his son up. We ran to the door, which was right next to the living room (the fire). It was very hot. As I was opening the door, it felt like we were in an oven. It wasn’t opening. I finally got it open, and we ran out. I fell down the stairs and got burned up more. We ran across the street where it was safe and called the cops. My husband was on the phone the whole time; he heard us screaming and everything going on.

I got burnt on my whole arm, second-degree burns, and on my lower back, needing to be hospitalized for 6 days. His son got burned on his ear, broke his foot, and got his hair all burned up. Everything in the apartment is gone—all of our clothes, shoes, baby clothes, furniture—everything is gone… our home is gone. Please, if you can donate, anything helps. We are in a very bad situation.
