Rie Daisies, my lifelong friend and coven sister, recently received a formal diagnosis of stage four metastatic adenocarcinoma. No one ever wants to hear 'stage four,' but we are grateful that Rie is among the small percentage of patients eligible for immunotherapy. Her care team is optimistic, and there is hope that she will achieve remission. The path forward includes frequent treatments, additional imaging, and ongoing prescription needs. Even with the best possible outcome, immunotherapy will be an indefinite part of her life.
