Calling all my animal lovers!
This sweet baby, Rico, was found tied to a tree in Jamaica Queens on May 15th.
Alone for hours without food or water, he cried out to every passerby in hopes that someone would help. Thankfully, a few good samaritans stayed with him, hoping someone would return for him. No one did.
I picked Rico up, scanned him for a microchip (none found), and gave him a much-needed bath. We’ve posted across all NYC and Long Island lost & found pet sites and notified local precincts, but no one has come forward.
My friend Connie graciously offered to take care of Rico until we find his forever home & has given him all the love and support he needs. I’ve created this GoFundMe to help cover the costs to get him fully vetted, neutered, and trained. Any remaining funds will go directly to his future family to support his transition!
Rico is not the first dog l've taken in off the street, but he is truly one of the best dogs l've had the pleasure of meeting. He’s endlessly affectionate, loves people and other animals, and is always ready for the next adventure. He does struggle with separation anxiety (though who wouldn’t after being abandoned?), but with support and care, he’ll thrive.
Any and all help — whether through donations or simply sharing his story — is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for helping give Rico the second chance he deserves!
