Support Rico Sanchez Heal After Brain Surgery
Donation protected
Hi, this is Mariana Sanchez, the oldest daughter of Rico and Meg Sanchez. Very suddenly, last Tuesday, December 24, my dad had a grand mal seizure. Then, in the ER, we discovered my Papi had a tumor (meningioma) that needed to come out because it is causing immense swelling and inflammation in the brain, which is what ultimately caused the grand mal seizure. He had a craniotomy on Friday morning, and per his neurosurgeon, Dr. Rosen, everything has gone well so far. He will be in the ICU for another 2-4 days at OSF, pending his recovery and pain.
At home, we have a family of my father, mother, myself (19), my sister Lía (17), and our twin brothers, Isaak and Isaiah (7). The funds we are trying to raise will go to several things. Considering how sick he is, the deductible will come due immediately in a few days. That never happens for him as he is always the super healthiest in our family. He has never had any serious health issues nor a seizure in his life. Before this, he didn’t even take any medication either.
Any funds raised will go to his recovery process. He has enough PTO and new life leave at State Farm, his employer, but he does not currently have short-term (or long-term) disability. After the hospital stay, he will have 2-4 weeks of recovery at home. There could also be costs for therapy, lost wages, food, gas expenses, etc. The funds we are trying to raise will go to all this and more as he is the breadwinner of our immediate family.
Along with your prayers, I pray you may be able to help us financially. My mom will be the point person for the family. All donations will go directly to her bank account. Please consider donating to our family. If you would rather send DoorDash gift cards, Venmo, or something of the like, then please reach out to me or my sister, Lía. Our Pastor, Chris Shandrow, also has been a huge help in the process of coordinating resources.
Thank you SO much! May God bless you all triple fold for any love and support.
