Ricky has been part of our family since 2016, back when we lived in Oakland, California. He was just a three-month-old kitten then. We brought him with us when we moved from California to Florida, and he’s been with us for nine wonderful years. Over the years, Ricky grew into a big, chubby cat. At his annual check-up earlier this year, he weighed a healthy 17 pounds.
Ricky has a unique personality—he loves spending time alone in a quiet room, likes to eat chicken, and always prefers dry food over wet food. He has that “nothing bothers me” attitude but still manages to make us laugh with his straight-faced antics. We love him deeply.
A few years ago, Ricky had a bladder stone issue, but he overcame it, and we were so grateful. Unfortunately, his health began to decline about two months ago. He started eating less and eventually stopped eating altogether, losing seven pounds in the process. Last week, we took him to the vet and learned that he has pancreatitis. The vet explained that there are several possible causes, so we decided to start treatment for infection to see if it would help. However, the medications and bloodwork have already cost nearly $1,000.
We returned to the vet this week for a follow-up. There was only minimal improvement, and the vet recommended an ultrasound to determine the underlying cause of his pancreatitis. At this point, we realized we needed some help.
I’ve attached his medical bills from the last two visits. We’re planning to take him for an ultrasound tomorrow. Any support for Ricky would mean so much, and we truly hope he can get well soon.
Thank you in advance for your kindness.
