Yesterday was the hardest day of my life. Richard Beitz was hurting and needed peace. There are no words the pain that comes with sitting your small children down and trying to explain in way they will understand that dad won't be waking up. Comforting while they say a final goodbye. Holding the hand of your loved one, surrounded by family when they take their last breath. Twenty one years together was a lifetime and not long enough. We've spent more of our lives together than apart. So while yesterday was a day of firsts- first day of school, first day of preschool-i can't help but think of how many more firsts and special moments he will me and we will miss him for.
