Hello Family and Friends,

Our father, Ricky West, has been in a very bad automobile accident on Sunday, 10/06/24. He is currently in ICU. They rushed him back for emergency surgery with a brain bleed, collapsed lungs full of blood, and his stomach was full of blood. They have had to remove most of his large intestines since they were without blood flow for so long. His back, both arms, and left leg are broken, and his right leg's bone is chipped. We have been told that he may never walk again. Tuesday evening they removed life support and he is finally breathing on his own. Unfortunately, we found out today his brain's front right lobe has a good amount of damage, and it may be permanent. This affects his personality and memory. While he is not out of the woods yet and he still has more surgeries We are being told that realistically he may be in the hospital 4 to 5 months.Our parents have been married 49 years on October 17th, so as you can imagine, our mother is not leaving his side. While we will be pulling together as a family, my daddy was the sole breadwinner for him and our mother.

We are hoping to raise funds to cover costs for things like:

1. Gas money for trips to and from the hospital and other running related to my father being in the hospital.

2. Food for Mom while she is waiting with Dad at the hospital.

3. Unexpected bills that may or may not be covered right away by the VA.

4. Any unforeseen expenditure due to my father being in the hospital.

5. Any unforeseen expenditure once my father is able to come home.
