Help Ricky with Leukemia Treatment

Our Dear Ricky Bobby, Ricky Hieb- Our Lifelong Friend, Brother, Son, Nephew, and Dear one is facing a daunting challenge and needs your help.

Ricky was recently diagnosed with an extremely rare version of Leukemia - Chronic Neutrophilic Leukemia. He faces a challenging road ahead involving complicated life changes and medical care. Ricky is already receiving & responding to Chemo but will need assistance as he grapples with the health and financial difficulties that come with battling a rare & serious illness.

Ricky has been put on work leave for the next 18 months. It is presently unclear what costs will be incurred on his recovery journey or what portion will be covered by insurance. But we know that he will need assistance as he adapts to major life changes.

As of now, we are applying for Drug Trials and preparing for the next step - a Stem Cell Transplant.

The Stem Cell Transplant could happen in Sacramento, California- in which case he will need to arrange care for a month and housing for several months of treatment in Sacramento near his Doctors & hospital. We are Hopeful that a sibling can be matched as his donor; otherwise, we will be looking for a viable candidate.

Our ideal objective would be to transfer his care and move him to Michigan for the Stem Cell Transplant to bring him closer to his family and friends. He would then continue his care at the University of Michigan.

The race ahead is a marathon. Our brother is unable to work, coming to terms with this unforeseen disability and facing costly treatments and life changes. He needs help for the next 12-18 months covering costs so he can focus on getting healthy and beating this illness.

Raised funds will go towards addressing a root Canal that must be fixed before his next stage of treatment. Following that, towards supporting his daily life and treatment plan, his stem cell transplant, and his moving costs.

Ricky has lit up so many lives with his Bright Spirit and Strong Heart. He means so much to all of us. We are determined to help him thrive. Please send him your prayers and good vibes.
