Support Ricky Brooks' Road to Recovery

Update! Ricky went through successful surgeries and is now on the road to recovery. 4/22 Ricky returned home and is going through physical therapy and respiratory rehab. He is in good spirits and appreciates all the kind words, thoughts, prayers, and contributions. The estimated recovery time is between 8-10 months, so please continue to keep him in your thoughts and reach out when you can! This Gofundme will continue to be active for the near future with the hopes to reach our goal. We are planning additional fundraiser events in the near future. My name is Jason Cormier, Ricardo (Ricky) Brooks is a brother of mine. If you are reading this then you understand the joy and love that Ricky brings into the world. He is a person who gives everything to everyone and ask for nothing in return, lives for the his twin daughters Robyn and Raynni, and fills the room with love when he smiles.

Easter weekend, Ricky tore his Achilles walking onto the court checking into a basketball game. Anyone familiar with this type of injury would know it is one of the worst an athlete let alone a person can go through- the process to just walk again is just shy of a year. Friday, 4/12 Ricky had surgery. Tuesday morning he was rushed to the hospital with blood clots in his leg and both lungs. Currently Ricky needs oxygen to breathe on his own and unable to speak. With all the optimism in the world through prayers and medicine, we are hoping that he can push through to overcome this situation. Another scheduled surgery to remove the blood clots is scheduled for Friday 4/19.

Everyone knows how expensive a doctors bill can be, let alone a surgery, emergency care, overnight stays and life monitoring- ESPECIALLY WITHOUT INSURANCE. I am asking for our friends, family, and community to help ease this burden any way possible by helping to donate and towards these medical bills that will continue to grow.

If able, please donate what you can to help ease his financial burden, help to provide him support mentally, and give back what he has given to us everyday. If you can not help financially, please pray for him and his family that he has a full recovery.
