Rick Deen is my neighbor and friend, and he’s someone who has always inspired those around him with his creativity and resilience. Earlier in 2025, Rick suffered a stroke that severely limited his mobility. Despite this, he continued to cut hair at his barber shop and pursued his passion for art, filling his shop with beautiful drawings, paintings, and sculptures. On his birthday, friends gathered to celebrate his recovery, and I was moved by the incredible art he had created.

Since June, I’ve been working on a website to showcase Rick’s artwork, hoping to help him share his talent with the world. Unfortunately, around Thanksgiving, Rick suffered another stroke while driving home through a construction zone. Not only was his car badly damaged, but this second stroke took away some of his ability to write, draw and walk, and he now experiences double vision. These new challenges have made it impossible for Rick to work, and he is in urgent need of physical therapy and medical care that he cannot afford.

All funds raised will go directly to Rick’s physical therapy, medical bills, and daily living expenses. We are about to launch his art website, and he hopes to sell his work to help cover costs, but your support will mean so much more.
