Support Rick's Recovery and Home Build
Donation protected
On June 28th 2024, Rick was taken to Reedsburg hospital where our family learned he had a massive brain tumor on his right frontal lobe. After waiting several days for a bed to open at UW hospital and Ricks condition becoming more serious, our family made the decision to transport him to the UW hospital emergency room where he then could get the care he needed faster. Shortly after, the details came that his tumor was malignant and he would need an operation immediately followed by radiation, chemotherapy, physical therapy and many other treatments. Rick is currently recovering from his operation in an inpatient rehabilitation facility for approximately 3-4 weeks.
However, that is not all.
For the past 6 months Rick and his wife Stacy have been going through a huge transition that involved the sale of their home, a relocation to a temporary housing situation (that is not suitable for him to come back to in his condition) and are currently building their 'forever' home. The build is underway but far from completion. Rick will need this home to be completed in approximately 4 weeks so he can have a safe environment to recover in. The home is wheelchair accessible and single story.
As a family, we are asking not only for donations to assist in his mounting medical bills, but also for your time and labor to help complete his home. Any skilled tradesmen and laborers willing to donate their help in a timely manner would be most appreciated in this difficult and most unexpected life changing event.
We don't know how much his treatments will cost as it depends on the amount of treatments he will need, insurance coverages and other variables. Our goal of $50k is a loose number that GoFundMe requires as an input. Thank you in advance for your donations, your time, your thoughts and prayers and kind words.
