Hello everyone!

Rick Smith is a local professional photographer & Thousand Oaks resident. He has been teaching photography at the Conejo Parks & Recs district for over 10 years now. He has had his work in many exhibitions and was also a winner of the ‘Projecting LA’ contest.

Above all else, Rick is one of the kindest, most supportive humans I know. I am honored to call him my friend and I know everyone that knows him feels the same.

Recently, Rick had an accident, a fall on the street, in which he broke his brand new work camera and sustained some terrible injuries. He only had his new camera for one week.

Rick is a single man, on a limited income with no children to help him recover. (I’m sure we all have older friends that are in the same situation.) Rick lives with his beloved 28-year-old pet parrot.

I am on a mission to raise the funds for Rick to repurchase a new camera and cover some of his medical expenses. The medical expenses are unknown at this time, but will be updated as I get more information.

Currently, I know the camera that was broken in the fall was a Leica D-Lux 8 with a cost of $1600.
