Support Rick's Fight Against Colorectal Cancer

Hello, you have reached the fundraising page of Rick Murphy and his family. Many of our friends and family have asked how they can help support us during this time, so we wanted to put together this page to allow those who would like to help with the medical efforts and get updates on Rick's care and recovery.

In July 2022, Rick underwent a colonoscopy to address some ongoing pain he had been experiencing. The gastroenterologist discovered a 5cm lesion in his colon during that procedure. From that point, Rick has undergone continuous tests and scans to understand the stage of his cancer.

After discovering two small lesions on his liver after an MRI scan, he underwent a biopsy in October 2022. The test results revealed one benign lesion and the other positive for malignant cells but predominantly benign cells. His treatment plan will consist of chemotherapy, and targeted radiation, which we pray will result in the tumor's shrinking and not requiring any surgery.

Another component of Rick's treatment will be IV therapy which will aid in his chemotherapy journey. These IV treatments will help with his energy levels and boost his immune system and overall well-being. However, insurance does not cover these treatments; this fundraising effort will assist with these treatments.

We ask that any friends and family who would like to support our family help in one of two ways (or both). While Rick's diagnosis came unexpectedly, we are confident that God is at work and Rick will have a complete recovery. Rick continues to have a positive outlook and attitude throughout these circumstances. We are grateful for all the support of those close to us and continued prayer as we walk this path as a family.
