Joseph "Rick" is 41 years old and disabled. Rick also is autistic and has a condition called Velo Cardio Facial Syndrome. Rick has tongue cancer. He had surgery on November 10th. His likes are Star Wars and Star Trek. He has a feeding tube; all medications and nutrition have to be liquid. Sadly, his insurance does not cover all of his needs. Mother has to travel to Germantown to see doctors and have specialty scans done. Has lost over 60 pounds and none of his clothing items fit him. He is still having radiation treatments. Treatments continue at the West Cancer Center. A little information on his parents: father is 78 and handicapped, and mother is 75 and his only caregiver. Dad is not able to help with yard work. Mom has to take care of the property. She will need to hire someone to take care of the yard. Walk behind lawn mower needs repair. Anything will help as we are currently struggling and stressed with all the travel and miles put on our one vehicle. Increased the goal due to the $2,230.00 co pay that was paid when he was admitted to the hospital on March 16th.
