This site is dedicated to supporting Rick Smith's family. In May 2024, Rick started feeling ill, achy, and fatigued. This started Rick's long journey of visiting many specialists and having many procedures to try to determine a diagnosis. On October 24th, Rick was finally diagnosed with epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE). It is a rare and aggressive cancer that originates in the cells lining the blood vessels. This cancer has affected Rick’s liver, lungs, and bones, which made making his journey particularly challenging. Rick passed on November 20, 2024.

Rick required extensive care and attention. It was a full-time commitment for Lynne and his adult children, Miranda and Christian.
