Rick Myers has been in need of heart repair for quite awhile. Through months of waiting, several obstacles have been tossed in front of him! We are so close to getting the surgery that will save his life, but when he was being prepped for surgery his doctor postponed it due to too much fluid on his lungs. He was admitted into the ICU that day where they also discovered he had pneumonia. Thankfully he has responded well to the medications to get him “surgery ready”! His open heart surgery date has been set for May 20th. Insurance says he needs to stay in the hospital until then or all of his paperwork starts over and will, yet again, delay this needed surgery.

His wife has been wanting to be close, so she is renting an apartment right on the grounds of Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. This stay is not included in hospital bills and they are both worried about the expense of so many unexpectedly added days to his stay and what this will cost them. We are hoping to raise a small sum of money to help alleviate some of these worries.
