Support Rick Garrett's Fight Against Leukemia

Hi, my name is Penny Garrett LeRoy. I am starting this GoFundMe for my brother, Rick Garrett. He has been fighting ALL, which is Acute Lymphoma Leukemia, for the last year.

Rick has always been considered the funny guy, the life of the party. But this past year has not been a party for him. It has been a struggle, and he has not been able to work at all. He has had to run to Columbus several times a week for chemo, treatment, and appointments, at times being admitted for days due to complications. The doctors have gotten him well enough to go to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, for a bone marrow transplant. Due to the length of treatment and loss of strength, he has finally been approved for disability. The problem with that is, it is only half of what he is used to making. His wife, Cindy Klein Garrett, had to take intermittent leave while he was in the hospital and so she could take him to appointments when other family members couldn't. She has already lost at least 12 weeks of pay last year and will lose at least 100 days while they are in Florida. The Mayo requires them to stay close to the clinic in case his body starts to reject the transplant or complications come up.

They could use all the prayers, help, and support from family, friends, and the community to get them over this next hump in the road. Please consider supporting Rick and Cindy through this moment in their lives. Any amount will be greatly appreciated by them. They have enough to worry about without the burden of finances on their minds as well. Any money raised will help them with everything going on (bills, medical costs, everyday essentials, car payments, and insurances) and other finances that may pop up while they are unable to work.
