Hello! My name is Alyssa Cameron, and I am raising funds on behalf of my father, Rick Cameron, who was recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
After retiring from the public school system after 23 years of being a devoted science teacher, my dad was looking forward to well-deserved relaxation in his retirement. Instead, life threw a curveball in his plans. Just a few months into retirement, he suffered a broken vertebra in his spine. Following surgery, he returned home only to discover that a second vertebra had also broken. After the second surgery, the doctors informed us about the cancer and attributed it to the cause of the broken vertebrae. Over the past two months, he has endured a serious infection, multiple surgeries, and has begun chemotherapy. One of the surgeries was to fuse seven of his vertebrae together. These complications have left him facing a long road to recovery, including strengthening his muscles to be able to walk and move on his own again. During this time, he requires full-time care while continuing treatment and healing. And as we know, healthcare is expensive.
Any contribution, no matter the size, would go directly to helping cover medical and caregiving expenses. It would mean the world to my family to have your support at this time so my father can receive the care he needs. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page, offering kind words, or even prayers would mean just as much to us. Thank you for your generosity and for helping us be the village supporting my dad as he works toward recovery and beating cancer's ass.
