Support for Rick Pero and Lisa Stone: Rebuilding After Another Devastating Fire
Dear Friends and Community,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support for our dear friends, Rick Pero and his wife Lisa Stone. They have faced unimaginable loss and tragedy. In 2018, they lost their home in the Camp Fire in Paradise, California. Tragically, on July 24, 2024, their second home in Forest Ranch was also destroyed by the Park Fire.
Adding to their heartbreak, their beloved "fur baby" CatMandu was lost in the fire. CatMandu was unable to be evacuated by their cat sitter while Rick and Lisa were traveling. Our Babydu, as they lovingly called him, was a shy and sweet kitty who sought shelter under his favorite chair, where he was found. The likely cause was smoke inhalation.
Rick and Lisa are now facing the overwhelming task of rebuilding their lives once again. Losing everything twice is a burden that no one should have to bear. The disbelief, the immense amount of work ahead, and the stretched resources have left them in a difficult place.
Despite these hardships, the outpouring of support from friends near and far has truly been a light in this dark time. We are calling on this wonderful community to come together once more to support Rick and Lisa's recovery.
Your generous donations will help them with immediate needs and the long-term process of rebuilding their home and lives. No amount is too small, and every bit of support is deeply appreciated.
Let’s come together to show Rick and Lisa that they are not alone and that we are here to help them through this incredibly challenging time.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
