Support Rick and Jackie's Family in Severe Need

Hello Friends and Neighbors, it's Rick and Jackie Clanton. Many of you know us as the volunteer family, whether with scouts, animals, or Christmas. Many of you also know us as Nana and Papa to Brycen, Hayden, Kaelynn and Lilian. Also, Nana and Papa to two sweet Nebraska girls. We currently have the two grandsons, two granddaughters and our daughter living with us. We have five family members who are disabled but not currently receiving funds. Rick and Robyn have severe physical disabilities, while three of the children have severe learning disabilities, autism, and other disabilities. Becoming homeless, as you can understand, would adversely affect the children, not to mention the family as a whole. With many of the health issues among the family, living outside and/or in unhealthy, and/or stressful conditions will adversely affect them as well. Robyn is working for her disability claim while Rick has taken early SSR (retirement) he will not be receiving monetary benefits from SSI.

We did it! With your support we received enough funds within 5-6 days to pay off our August rent and stopped the eviction but also donated enough money to cover September through November rent! Thank y'all for your tremendous response!

However, we are not done yet! Our prayers and hope have been that our village is able to bless us with our goal of $25,000 which would pay rent through March or April.

Another idea, option would be someone out there helping us move into a less expensive, yet safe/quiet property. Preferably in the Durham school district/RTP area, so the children don't have to move schools. Maybe with reduced rent or no rent for a short time (4-6 mths)? As you can imagine, with no job, etc. our credit is shot, and we can't possible match 3-4x the rent amount with Jackie's current income.

As you know, Jackie lost her job unexpectedly in March and has been trying to find another job to support the family and pay all the bills, with no luck so far. Currently she is working at Target as a seasonal worker and will begin working one evening per week as a receptionist/concierge at a local retirement community. Both of these jobs pay at or below minimum wage ($15.50/15) and are only part-time, so she'll barely be making enough for half of the rent each month, but it is something. It will keep the bills, gas and extras paid so that every GFM dime goes to rent.

As you know, we have exhausted our savings and Jackie's retirement, plus have reached out to community resources.

We appreciate any and everything you can give and/or do. It takes a village, and we hope our village can send out to their village and so on and so on. Share our story with influencers you may know or follow. Share to other media platforms. Help spread the word!

If you are unable to donate, please keep us in your prayers and share our story!

We sincerely appreciate all y'all have done for us thus far. We couldn't have made it this far without your kind generosity and support!

Sincerely, Rick, Jackie and the Clanton Family
