Support Rich's Ride: Tribute to Allie, Gian-Luc, and Nick

Memorial bicycle ride for Allie, Gian-Luc, and Nick

In loving memory of our children who were taken from this Earth far too early, we want to purchase memorial benches and trees in their honor. Our vision is to create spaces where we, the families and friends of our children, as well as others who have lost children, can reflect on the lives and memories of their loved ones.

To this end, Rich Canedo is riding his bicycle from San Diego, California to St. Augustine, Florida. Our hope is ultimately to raise $10,000. This amount will pay for two benches and two living trees. The ride is a 44-day trip and encompasses approximately 3,000 miles, and Rich is committed to riding every inch of it. Rich carries mementos of our children on his rides so that he can take them to places they didn’t get a chance to see.

Any financial help you are able to give will be greatly appreciated. Every dollar gets us closer to our goal. If you are unable to donate, we certainly understand and just ask that you please share this with others.

This fundraiser is in honor of our children:

Allie Canedo, daughter of Rich and Lisa Canedo. At the age of 22, Allie died tragically in an auto accident. It has changed our lives forever. Allie was a very giving person; she would have given anybody the shirt off her back, no questions asked. She was ambitious and excited about her future. She was only one semester away from graduating from college and had a bright future ahead of her. Forever loved, forever missed.

Gian-Luc Jordan, son of Henry and Petra. Gian-Luc was killed at the age of 12 when trying an internet challenge, “the choking game.” Gian-Luc was kindhearted, funny, spunky, and had a great love for life. His positive outlook on everything had a powerful impact on everyone around him. He was an honor roll student, a fabulous athlete, and most of all, a wonderful son and brother in our family.

Nicholas Uberecken, son of Debby Standard. Nick was killed at the age of 22 by a careless driver in an SUV while he was riding his motorcycle to work. Nick had an infectious laugh and an amazing sense of humor, loved snowboarding and riding his motorcycle, was compassionate and kind to everyone he met, and never had an enemy. He was well on his way to creating a great future for himself when his life was so unexpectedly taken.

Our children shall live forever in our hearts and our memories.

Please share this fundraiser. THANK YOU
