Dear Friends and Family,
With a heavy heart, I share the following news:
After years of hard work and saving for our retirement, my beloved husband, Richie Treutle has been faced with the challenges of Alzheimer’s Disease. Showing signs as early as 2018 with symptoms increasing during the pandemic and 5 hospitalizations from May 2025 to September 2025, we now find ourselves faced with financial demands more than double his pension and social security. Currently in a Nursing/Rehab with 1 to 1 support, the monthly cost is $14,000, and if unable to return home that monthly cost will increase to $16,000 +. Ineligible for Medicaid at this time, we have nearly depleted our savings and are asking for your help. Whatever amount large or small, we would be grateful for. This is a very sad journey, it is the “saddest, longest goodbye” to a wonderful partner, best friend, special family man who dedicated his life to helping others. He is deserving of the peace he needs to spend the rest of his days with love and support from caring friends and family.
Attached are pictures from July of 2019, December of 2024, and also a recent picture taken September of 2025.
Thank you for taking the time to read and support us at this very difficult time.
With gratitude,
Stephanie Visca Treutle
UPDATE: MARCH 2026
As you can see from the new picture below taken on St. Patty's Day, Rich is calm and peaceful, enjoying his visit with me. He is now living in the private home of a wonderful nurse in Shrub Oak who cares for him 24/7. His medical needs require daily care from an experienced nurse, something I could not provide in our home any longer. He was home for several months after being in a nursing home and hospitals for seven months. He was home for the holidays which I know he appreciated. My family visited several times a month so he had visitors and support from them and a full time aide. I am grateful for the care he received and is receiving now. I call his nurse his angel. Her name is Angelina and she is truly an angel. Richie tells me "she really likes me" and we know he is getting the very best of care. He was also accepted into a hospice program which has been very helpful to all.
I want to thank those who donated to his page in December and ask for those able, to consider donating at this time. Thank you.
Stephanie
