Support Richard's Recovery from Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
Hi, I am Richard and I am attempting to fundraise following a Bone Marrow Transplant. About 2 1/2 years ago some abnormal white blood cells showed up on my bloodwork. I went to see a local Hematologist and she reviewed the results and determined to do a Bone Marrow Biopsy. It reveled that I had a Myeloproliferative Neoplasm disorder. Following that the Hematologist sent me to Hackensack NJ where they have a department specializing in Bone Marrow Transplants. At first they advised that I would just be monitored however after 2 years the blood work results indicated I would need the Bone Marrow Transplant that was July 2023. To prepare the hospital needed to locate an anonymous bone marrow donor. Once found and the person agreed to donate their bone marrow (I don't have enough kind words for this person) I proceeded to do 2 weeks of radiation and then check into the hospital for 22 days where they bring your white cells down to zero by administering 2 weeks straight of chemotherapy and then they administer the transplant that was October 2023. Once out of the hospital I have been on the road to recovery however I have not been able to work during the current recovery due to an array of side effects and constant treatment of the side effects.
I would be grateful for any sum someone may consider donating to help off set the medical and general expenses that arise during this time period. I am the one in the bright pink shirt on my profile. picture prior to transplant.
