Richard is well known in the community as an outgoing, free spirted guy, full of life and never meets a stranger! He is also know as the owner of the Chicken Shack if you're from the Crawford community. Richard has put his heart and soul into that restaurant for almost 3 years now. But in mid august his world suddenly changed after an atv accident. He spent the following 30 days in the hospital and underwent 5 separate surgeries.

Although Richard is out of the hospital now, he still faces daily battles and attends multiple appointments weekly but you will never catch him without a smile on his face. This week Richard will begin his next battle ahead with more tests and also begin the process with his colorectal doctor. We have made it this far with the amazing strength given to us by god and the support and love given to us by our amazing family and friends

We are now at a hard spot in his healing journey where the bills are piling up and our beloved Chicken Shack, in the amazing community of Crawford, is at stake. Of course, we would love to continue having the Chicken Shack open but we can't do it on our own. We are so thankful for the love and support we have received from our community and customers over the past 2 years. We hope to celebrate year 3 in August 2026 with each of you!
