Support Richard's Recovery after Traumatic Car Accident
Donation protected
On New Years Eve, Richard Morace left his home to spend the New Year with his girlfriend at work. Unfortunately, he was involved in a head on collision on his way there. Richard went unconscious and his car caught on fire immediately after being pulled out. He was transported to the hospital for emergency surgery, sustaining multiple injuries including a bladder rupture, severed abdominal muscles, minor brain bleeding, and multiple breaks, fractures, and shatters in both ankles and legs. Richard will need to receive several more surgeries throughout his hospital stay, which is estimated to be a couple of weeks along with a minimum 12 week recovery period. He is the main provider for his family at home, including his girlfriend and his two boys that live with him full time. He will not be able to return to work for an extended period of time, putting financial strain on his girlfriend who is also trying to take care of the kids at home and spend as much time as she can in the hospital. Richard and his family are attempting to navigate what this change looks like for their family, including the loss of a car and having to move into a more accessible apartment while he is recovering. While it feels difficult asking for help, we would be beyond appreciative if anyone had any extra support or resources to offer as we navigate this difficult road.
