Support Richard's Recovery After Tragic Shooting

Hello, my name is Courtney and I’m trying to raise some funds to help my daughter cover emergency vet bills from someone shooting her dog. It has been a traumatic experience for the family and sweet Richard. Below is my daughter’s story.

Richard and Lewi got out a little before 1pm yesterday, we were looking the surrounding area for them the entire time until found. They showed up to someone’s house around 3:45, about 2 minutes from our house (right up the road). The property owners found Richard with a bullet hole right through him, he posted on Facebook and called the police. The bullet went under his spine and right above his vital organs. He was pooling blood when brought into black dog vet, they were able to slow it down and he headed to AERC in Oakdale. They ran all kinds of test on him before they began surgery early this morning. The surgery ran significantly longer than anticipated but he did great. He had to be cut from one side to the other going across the top of his back. He is on lots of medication and has a drain tube in his back.

At this time we have no leads to who shot this beautiful gentle giant and left him to walk around until he found help while losing so much blood. Richard has a long road ahead of him and it’ll be a while before vet bills slow down. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help or just to share this. Thank you and God bless.
