Hi,
I am a close friend of this wonderful family and wanted to share (with their permission) their story and ask for your help, thoughts, love and prayers.
Our friend Richard left UPHS Marquette on 1/10/23, to begin a journey that will bring him to healing and with God’s help a New Liver. This past week Richard was admitted to UPHS Marquette, with severe symptoms of liver failure and on the brink of death. This was due to his Hemochromatosis. He was diagnosed with this hereditary blood disorder a few years ago.
Hemochromatosis causes excess iron that can poison organs, which can lead to conditions such as cancer, irregular heartbeat, and cirrhosis of the liver.
Shortly after being admitted, Richard with his wife Kaycee by his side was told that he needed a liver transplant, within the next 3 months. His UPHS medical team worked quickly to move him to U of M and get him on the transplant list.
It is in God’s hands now. Richard will remain hospitalized at the University Of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor until a Liver is found and he can have his transplant. Kaycee will be traveling between Marquette and Ann Arbor, supporting her husband, until the process is complete. During this time they will not be able to work. This is where our support comes in and becomes so valuable for this family.
Richard, Kaycee and their 5 beautiful children need to be lifted with our love, prayers and support. This journey will come at many costs. The last thing they need to worry about is financial hardship. Please consider helping Richard and Kaycee in any way you can.
Please lift them in your thoughts and prayers. Donate if you are able and please share this Go Fund Me.
(All funds from this Go Fund Me will go directly to Richard and Kaycee to assist them with medical costs and to support their family during this time.)
Thank you,
