On May 20, 2021, Richard Steven Cruzate was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. With more tests done, he had to go through an emergency procedure to remove the right testicle where the tumor was first noticed. Richard was then diagnosed with Stage 1 Cancer. The news was devasting, especially to this young man of 31yrs with a growing family. Sofia-7, Alyvia-1, Jorge- 4mos and his Wife Jackie-28.
Both Richard and Jackie were born and raised in Hawaii, Richard graduated from Leilehua High School and Jacquelyn at Mililani High School. Richard was always a go getter and excelled in anything he put his mind to. He was independent and was on his own at an early age until he met his wife, girlfriend at the time Jacquelyn. They started to grow their family with their first child Sofia and decided to move to LA where opportunities were a better fit for their little family.
So far, the doctors feel that they may have caught the Cancer at an early stage to where they don't see the spreading going past the testicles, but they strongly recommended Richard go through a few months of Chemotherapy for added safety measures as a precaution. Richard will start his Chemo in the next couple weeks.
With all of his medical procedures along with the excessive time out of work. This will put a great burden on the family’s finances. His extended family and friends have decided to make a "Go Fund Me" page to help with their financials especially with a young growing family living in LA.
