Support Richard Trudeau's Family in Their Loss

Donation protected
We are raising $18,000 to support the family of Richard Roland Trudeau of Framingham, Massachusetts, who passed away suddenly after a long and courageous journey with mental health. Richard was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend whose warmth, humor, and authenticity touched the lives of everyone he met. He had a way of lighting up any room and making people feel truly seen and loved. Richard’s presence was one-of-a-kind—genuine, kind, and full of heart. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

Richard was most proud of his hard working jobs and his son Mark. He would attend Mark's football games from the time he was in sixth grade all the way to his senior year in college and leave him voicemails afterwards telling him how he "played like a pro". Richard was always proud of the jobs he did, he took thousands of pictures of the projects he worked on.

Mark and his family have been deeply affected by the loss of Richard, having also lost Mark's Brother Jason to mental illness over 1 year prior. Mental health struggles have impacted their lives in profound ways, and they are committed to continuing to raise awareness and advocate for better mental health support. Richard's journey, highlights how complex and difficult it can be for each individual person.

He is survived by his son, Mark Trudeau of Duxbury, who will always hold their memories close; his sisters, Michelle Trudeau of Marlborough, MA, and Marie Trudeau VanHeest and her husband Doug VanHeest of South Carolina; and his beloved niece and nephews—Nicole VanHeest, Mathew Foster, and Danny Foster. He also leaves behind many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who loved him deeply.

We are raising funds to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, offer support to Richard’s family during this time, and make a donation in his honor to a mental health organization—something that reflects the importance of his journey and legacy. Any contribution, or even just sharing this page, means so much to us.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 16 at 11:00 AM at Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury, followed by a celebration of Richard’s life at the Gillis Family Tavern in Plymouth from 12:00–4:00 PM. All who knew and loved him are welcome.

Thank you for helping us honor Richard’s life with the love, compassion, and dignity he so greatly deserves.
