Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my dad, Richard Smith, who is facing one of the toughest battles of his life. After nearly a decade of excruciating ankle pain, countless treatments, failed procedures and years of ongoing infections, we’ve exhausted every option. Now, his only choice is amputation.

This is an unimaginable reality for my dad, but if you know him, you know he is a fighter, he has always been the most hardworking person I know. The pain he faces everyday has kept him from doing everyday tasks, working on his feet at the grocery store seems to be impossible some days but he still pushes through and makes it happen no matter the circumstances. He’s had to strap on a boot everyday for years just to be able to work. I want to see my dad enjoy life again without this dark cloud of pain over him day in and day out. He deserves to have his quality of life back again. He is the most giving and caring man — a loving father, devoted husband and the best papa to his granddaughter. He has spent his life taking care of others, and now, he needs our help more than ever.
