My name is Richard Sager. Im a father and grandfather. I've been a mechanic in the Lakewood/Cleveland community for over 25 years. I currently run my own automotive shop, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to work for the past month due to medical issues.

In this past month, I've been diagnosed with throat cancer, transglottic laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma to be more precise. With this, I've had to undergo a procedure called a tracheostomy where they protect my airway with a tube so I can breathe past the tumor in my throat. Now, I will have to undergo another surgery where they are taking away my voice box to remove all the cancer. After the surgery, I will have to learn how to eat and talk again with the new hardware they put in my neck. Unfortunately, this means a long and drawn-out recovery process. If I could work during any of this, I absolutely would but this is going to take me down for a while. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated as I undergo this journey of kicking cancer's ass!
