In March, Richard Paugh experienced a mental breakdown, leading him to leave his home and family. After five long months of searching by his wife, Terri, and detectives, Richard was found in Jacksonville, in an abandoned car wash. He was unresponsive, debilitated, and severely malnourished.
Upon being taken to the ER, Richard was diagnosed with sepsis. Tragically, his condition required the amputation of his arm from the shoulder down. He was also found to be severely underweight, in kidney failure, blind in his left eye, and suffering from severe burns all over his body. Richard is currently in the ICU, but he is stable.
Richard's home is in Port St. Lucie, which is a 3 1/2-hour drive from Jacksonville. Terri is traveling back and forth weekly to be by his side. Unfortunately, this situation has left her unable to work, and neither Richard nor Terri have health insurance.
Richard has a long road to recovery ahead, and any support would be greatly appreciated. Donations will help cover monthly bills, travel, lodging, and medical bills. Once Richard is stable enough, Terri hopes to move him closer to home to continue his recovery.
Thank you for your support during this challenging time.
