Donation protected
This feature documentary, A Monumental Life by filmmakers Rana Segal and Laurie Little, tells the story of Richard Hunt’s life growing up in Chicago and the experiences that inspired him to create his beautiful works of art. As a world-renowned sculptor, Hunt has more public works in the United States of any artist and yet few people know his name.
In this biographical documentary, we learn how Hunt was impacted by the racial injustices of his day and how he spoke to these influences through his sculptures. We look at his process as he creates such important works as Jacob's Ladder, Book Bird, The Light of Truth, and Swing Low and we learn about his passion and creative process as he sculpts these master works.
We are currently in production on the film and are raising funds to pay our crew, buy rights to archival material and for travel to locations.
Please join our amazing team of donors and supporters as we make this important biographical film in celebration of the life and work of Richard Hunt.
