Help Richard “Dickie” Davies and His Family
Our friend Richard Davies—better known to all of us as Dickie—experienced a sudden medical emergency yesterday during the Akerman Global Franchise Summer Summit in Denver.
On Thursday morning, July 17th, while walking into the Denver Botanical Gardens with Kevin Hein after setting up for the conference dinner, Dickie suddenly collapsed. By pure grace, a nurse who happened to be nearby rushed to his side and began CPR, keeping him stable until paramedics arrived. We don’t yet know all the medical details, but we do know that Dickie underwent a procedure yesterday and has a long road to recovery ahead.
For those who know Dickie, you know he’s one of a kind. Gregarious. Outgoing. Kind. He’s the personal hype machine for anyone lucky enough to be in his orbit. He makes franchising fun and inspiring, and he shows up for this industry—and for his friends—in ways that few people do.
Many of you have already asked how to help. We’ve set up this GoFundMe at the request of Kevin Hein so we can come together to support Dickie and his family. All funds will go directly toward:
Medical bills and care
Travel expenses for his family (who live in the UK)
Any other resources they need while here in the States
As soon as we have the information to connect Dickie or his wife directly, we will add them as the beneficiary to this campaign.
This is our chance to give back to someone who gives so much of himself to others. No amount is too small—every bit of love, support, and encouragement counts.
Let’s show Dickie how much this community has his back.
If you have questions please feel free to reach out to Ingrid Schneider or Kevin Hein
