On the evening of May 25, 2026 (Memorial Day), the lives of our family changed forever. At around 8 pm, a horrible motorcycle accident occurred at Olive and Rowell. Richard Cortes was the victim of a hit and run accident, suffering major injuries to his head, neck, and back. He was placed in an induced coma and could not breathe on his own. Our family is devastated, and our hearts are broken. No one could have been prepared for this type of tragedy.

Richard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed getting a beer with his friends and spending time with family. He was on his way to see his grandbaby, because she had just started walking. He fought for his life, but we lost him today. The loss has left us heartbroken and facing unexpected hospital and funeral expenses. We want to honor Richard’s memory and give him the farewell he deserves.
