I’m reaching out because I’m going through an ongoing medical situation that has been both overwhelming and financially difficult, and I’m asking for help as I continue trying to get answers.

I’ve been diagnosed with white matter disease, a neurological condition affecting my brain. Right now, doctors still don’t know the cause, and that uncertainty has been one of the hardest parts of this journey. So far, I’ve had MRIs, CT scans, and spinal taps, and doctors have already ruled out MS and other autoimmune disorders, but I still don’t have a clear explanation for what’s happening.

My doctors have recommended genetic testing in hopes of finding the underlying cause. With the help of my previous fundraiser, I was able to complete one of those tests, and I’m incredibly grateful for that support. If that test comes back negative, I will likely need to continue with additional genetic testing, since so many of my other tests have already come back without answers.

Depending on the cause of my white matter disease, these tests could help me understand what to expect moving forward — whether this is something that progresses quickly or something I may be living with long-term. More than anything, I’m hoping for answers that will help me plan for my future and continue being there for my children.

Along with the uncertainty, I’ve also been dealing with symptoms like numbness in my limbs, ringing in my ears, involuntary movements, and fatigue. These symptoms have already started to make work more difficult, and I worry about what this could mean for my ability to continue working in the future.

Thanks to the support from my previous fundraiser, I was able to cover the cost of my initial emergency room visit, where this condition was first discovered, as well as one of my MRIs. That help meant so much to me and truly made a difference. Unfortunately, this process is far from over. I now have another MRI coming up to see whether the condition has spread, and the medical costs continue to add up.

As a single mother of three, I’m doing everything I can to keep moving forward and hold things together for my family, but it has been incredibly hard to manage all of this on my own. The financial strain has become so significant that medical debt has even begun affecting my paycheck, making it even harder to keep up with both the care I need and everyday expenses for my children.
