Hello all, to my community, friends, family, and acquaintances. As many of you know, I was recently diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (a blood cancer). This is a complicated, serious, and sudden health situation that has hit me hard. It is treatable, they say. I have been traveling for the past weeks to Boise, getting tests and preparing for my initial treatments. There have been complications and setbacks, but most of the path forward, they say, can be outpatient, and I can be at home recovering, I hope, as much as I can.

Multiple Myeloma is a rare blood cancer that is incurable. It's a very painful cancer that affects your skeleton. Walking and moving is painful due to ulcers on the bones. It can be manageable and go into remission. At this point, the doctor says we found it soon, and odds are in my favor.

I am mostly beyond words as I face one of the biggest challenges of my life.

They don’t know exactly why it happens, but the first thing my oncologist asked was, do you use Roundup? But it does, and luckily, as I’ve been told, there are promising treatments.

The last several years have been hard. I haven’t worked very much due to an injury. As everyone knows, there are big changes still happening in my life, so my income stream has been very low.Brandy has been working hard to keep the bills paid and our family fed. But because of that, she has been gone, working and can’t be the support our kids need as much as she would like to be.

I care very deeply for my family and friends. Anything you can do to help me would be greatly, greatly appreciated so I can continue to be here and be part of my family's and friends' lives.

Multiple myeloma is a rare blood cancer that starts in the plasma cells of the bone marrow, leading to the overproduction of abnormal plasma cells that can cause bone damage, anemia, kidney problems, and an increased risk of infection. Key symptoms include bone pain (especially in the back or ribs), fatigue, weakness, and frequent infections. Treatment can manage the disease, even though there is no known cure.

Ricardo is one of the hardest working dads you can find. He was unstoppable. If he could, he would work every day just to give  our kids good life. He would work, then come home and take care of the yard and animals. If anyone needed him, he was there to help. This cancer has taken this away from him. He is tired all the time and in pain. It’s so hard for us to see him this way. He is a proud man and has a hard time asking for help. But here we are, asking for help. You never think it could be you in this position, but it is always possible, and we found out nobody is safe.
