On the 18th of November my 14 year old nephew Rhyan was diagnosed with a brain tumour after falling acutely unwell at school just a few days after his birthday and was urgently transferred to Bristol Children's Hospital for further investigation and treatment.

We're all extremely worried about him and although he's in the best place, he's over 100 miles from his home in Devon and the cost and challenge of transport and accommodation for his parents and family make an awful situation even harder.

Rhyan and his brothers split their time between their parents, mum works part-time and dad is self-employed. Both work limited hours due to looking after their children and now Rhyan is unwell, they're unable to do that so they can travel between Bristol and North Devon to be with their ill son and care for their other boys at home.

I've started this fundraiser so Rhyan's parents don't need to worry about buying food, paying the rent, traveling to the hospital, future appointments or anything Rhyan may need to support his treatment and recovery for the next few months.

As a family, we've lived with Lynch Syndrome for almost two decades across three generations, now probably four, with almost all of us having had various cancers, often at young ages, but nothing like this. While it's not certain at this stage if Rhyan's tumour is cancerous, we're aware of the high risk that it is cancer and due to Lynch Syndrome.

Rhyan has been massively brave throughout the whole thing but just wants to be back at home. He's is likely facing a long journey of chemo, physio and radiotherapy ahead and may need support for a long time yet.

I know times are tight right now for almost everyone, but I would not be asking if they didn't need the help. We would appreciate absolutely anything you can give to support Rhyan's journey.
