Support Rhonda's Family After Devastating Flood in Lawton OK
Donation protected
This fundraiser was created to benefit my friend, Rhonda and her family in Lawton, Oklahoma.
On April 26, 2025, they were awakened by golf ball sized hail pounding on their roof. Tornado sirens followed with a tornado touching down a few streets away from their home. They hurried to get dressed gather any valuables and important documents to safety. They gathered bags of supplies quickly as the torrential rain water filled the streets. Since the water rose so quickly and had come up the sidewalk, over the terrace and onto the front porch, they voluntarily evacuated to higher ground. Their roof was damaged, causing multiple leaks, and though they reached the front door, the flood waters never fully crossed the threshold. However, their garages were completely flooded.
They are still recovering from the aftermath. They have spent the last month meeting with insurance adjusters and cleaning up the damage to their home. Their car was carried off by the flood waters down the road and into a tree, and their motorcycles were engulfed by the water in the garage.
All of their vehicles were totaled and they are now without transportation and struggling to find rides for supplies and to get to work. Their roof is
quite damaged and needs to be replaced. The whole town was under
water, yet no assistance has been forthcoming to their area. The only relief they were able to find was Home Depot giving away buckets of cleaning supplies, but they were unable to get a ride in time to obtain them. Money is tight and they are exhausted. They are currently waiting to hear back regarding their insurance claims, but have a high deductible to meet.
They have no family with the means to help, so I have created this fundraiser to help them get back on their feet. I know they will be extremely grateful for any assistance.
Thank you!
