He has finally found peace from ALS, and I'm left to grapple with a profound sense of loss that is tempered by the inspiration of his courageous life. As Isaac's best friend and my pillar of strength, he was renowned for his kind heart, and his passing has left our family and friends reeling in shock, yet uplifted by the enduring power of his spirit.

My friend Rhoads Lee is suffering with ALS. His wife, Mary Ellen, has made taking care of him her career at this time. They are bravely battling this horrible disease. Medicine and his medical needs are very expensive even after insurance. Let's try to make their journey a little easier.

The daily costs are mounting! Insurance DOES NOT cover several of his daily medications or ANY of his personal care items. With only his Social Security coming in, making ends meet has been impossible.

His care is a 24-hour + job. They daily deal with night cramps and constant breathing issues and tube feeding. They are blessed to have Isaac, their son. He takes time daily to help with lifting his father. Isaac is working for people who allow him to leave to help when his father needs to be lifted in and out of bed or to the bathroom.

In this era of governmental changes, we can't even rely on which services will continue and for how long. If you are not in the position to contribute financially, please remember this family in your thoughts and prayers.
