hi everyone. this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write, but I’m reaching out because my best friend, my sweet dog Rhino, is fighting for his life and we need help.

yesterday, may 25th, Rhino took a sudden and severe turn for the worse. he was rushed to the emergency vet and diagnosed with sepsis and a critically low white blood cell count, meaning his body can’t fight infection on its own. he was given emergency treatment with IV fluids, antibiotics, and pain medication to stabilize him, and we were able to bring him home. but the fight is far from over.

the doctors believe cancer may be involved, and they’ve told us he will likely need to be hospitalized again within the next day or two. he’s not eating, barely moving, and his health continues to decline. his care now requires more advanced diagnostics and inpatient support. these next steps are urgent and incredibly expensive.

we’ve already spent over $2,200 trying to stabilize him. the care he needs going forward, including hospitalization, testing, and treatment, will cost several thousand more. i’m a full-time graduate student and simply can’t afford this on my own.

rhino has been with me since I was 12 years old.

he’s seen me through every heartbreak, every hard day, and every important chapter of my life. last week, he was running around with me, full of life. watching him fade so quickly is heartbreaking, but knowing that cost could be the reason he doesn’t get the care he needs is unbearable for me.
