Hello my dear friends. Rhia is moving into a group home at the beginning of June. This is a huge change for us both and requires a lot of coordination. It also changes our lives financially. I stop being her caregiver as soon as she moves, which means I lose half of my income. Plus, she will stop paying her part of the rent and I can't pay for this house on my own. However, I don't want to move or add a roommate until I know that Rhia is settled and thriving in her new home. If she's miserable after a few months, she can move back in with me. But I have a strong feeling she will do well in the group home. The caregivers and the house manager are very kind and Rhia has already connected with two women who live there.
I need your help paying the bills, at least for the summer. Several of you have asked how to be a support during this monumental transition. Buying us time to settle into our new lives is one way.
Or you can send notes and cards to Rhia (contact me for her new address). She loves mail!
And I might need a lot of chocolate... I'm talking a lot of chocolate!
