Support Rhiannon’s Battle Against Breast Cancer

I would like to introduce my big sister - Rhiannon, a 38-year-old single mother of five and a veteran who has dedicated her life to serving her country and community. From her brave tours in Afghan!st4n (2012), Jordan (2014), South Korea (2016), and Kuwait (2018), to her courageous work in the Air National Guard and as a Facility Director at a federal residential reentry center, Rhiannon has always put others before herself. She re-enlisted for another six years in early March 2024. Upon completion of this last enlistment will mark 21 years of military service to our country. Despite being exposed to burn pits during her service and sustaining injuries while on duty in Kuwait in 2018, she has never wavered in her commitment to helping those in need.

Our world was turned upside down on March 20, 2024. Diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer known as Triple Negative invasive ductal carcinoma that has spread to some of her lymph nodes. Rhiannon now faces her toughest battle yet. Despite the uphill climb ahead, Rhiannon approaches this challenge with the same resilience and determination that has defined her life thus far. She will undergo six months of chemotherapy and immunotherapy followed by a double mastectomy, all while continuing to care for her children and support her community.
