Support Rey's Family During His Detention

Rey is the sole provider for his family of 5: his loving wife and three children, one with autism and care needs. As a jornalero, he went out every day to secure an income and was accomplished in providing a safe and happy home. Rey migrated due to fear of violence and limited support. He came to the U.S. seeking asylum, filled with hope of the opportunity to create a better life. Rey was in the process of attaining asylum status.

Last Friday, 9/26, ICE raided the Home Depot in Carson (on Sepulveda Blvd). In a matter of minutes, they abducted 4 members of our community, including Rey!

Now this family, our neighbors, need support. Help us raise funds to cover living expenses for the next two months in the absence of their sole provider as they face uncertainty, the hardship of this trauma, and fight to keep their family together.

Recurring abductions in broad daylight at Home Depots or neighborhood shopping centers are not normal. Anyone trying to make an honest living is treated as a criminal. This administration advocates for all this harm. It is creating broken families, single parents, unaccompanied minors, and violence in businesses and community spaces.

We're all targets and suspects without awareness until masked agents choose to act out their violence. Those brutalized are singled out by racial profiling and arbitrary appearance—without humanity or regard for vulnerable conditions.

Community is resistance. Thank you for supporting and strengthening our communities through acts of love and solidarity.
