Support Reya through her healing process
Hello my name is Jeremy Ravenscroft, I'm raising the money to help with my 12 year old daughter, she is having orthoscopic surgery on both side of her left ankle.
So why we she is having to have it done is because about 3-4 years ago she broke her ankle which didn't turn up on an X-ray, last year she rolled her ankle twice and went in for new imaging.
During the long last 6 months with countless doctor visits, physical therapy, and imaging done it was discovered that she had broken the bone where your foot and ankle connect just the tip, but the cartilage never healed and is instead dead. Surgery was the last option that we weren't able to avoid.
After surgery we begin the healing process, Reya will be non-weight-bearing on her left foot for 6 weeks at that time she will be in a wheelchair if we can find one, or on a knee scooter. During the first two to three weeks she will be home resting, keeping her foot elevated at heart level to keep the swelling down, my wife will be staying home from work to take care of her during this period. After the first two to three weeks she will then get to go back to school still with a wheelchair or knee scooter she will not be allowed to put any pressure on that foot until 6 weeks have passed, thankfully she will have a boot rather than a cast.
Once the 6 weeks are up Reya will start physical therapy for 6 to 8 weeks, the whole healing process will take 3-4 months provided there are no complications, prayers are always appreciated.
Thank you.
