Support Rey and Bryan after devastating house fire.

Hello everyone, I’ll start off by introducing myself and then proceed with explaining what happened. My name is Samuel Valdez. My brothers and I were born and raised in Hillsboro, ND.

On 09/27/2024 at approximately 1600 hours, my brother Reynol Valdez Jr. (Rey) was driving back to Hillsboro from work in Grand Forks. While my brother was driving home, he received a phone call from his son Bryan, crying and stating the house was on fire. Bryan had just gotten home from school on the school bus and was waiting for his dad to get home. My brother then called the Hillsboro Fire Department, who responded to the scene on North Main Street. Unfortunately, the house is a loss with only the exterior walls standing. Since the Hillsboro Fire Department responded rapidly, they were able to save some of the house; however, it will not be livable and most likely will have to be torn down. My brother did not have insurance on the home and has lost everything. Social Services has helped them for the weekend and provided them with a hotel room. However, they have no clothes, shoes, food, or normal hygiene products and items you need on a daily basis. Rey and his son Bryan will need to find a new place they can call home. Anything will help keep Rey and Bryan stay positive through this hard time. Thank you for all of your help!!
