Hi friends and family we are sharing this on behalf of our dad, husband and grandpa, Rex Morgan with hopes of prayers and any donations you feel are appropriate. Anyone who knows Rex knows that he is the hardest working man on the planet. Rex has always worked hard for his family and gone above and beyond, working his day job doing what he loves and providing the income to allow Mom to run her business and be present daily for us kids and the grandkids, then coming home and doing all the things a great husband, dad and grandpa do. On March 11th, 2019 our family received news that Rex had suffered what was expected to be a heart attack, by the time that we arrived at the hospital we found that not only was it a heart attack but Rex would require a triple bypass surgery with a valve repair if there was any hope form him to survive. That 7 hour surgery was performed immediately without any of us getting to see him prior. Against all odds Rex pulled through the surgery and slowly made progress and after 4 weeks in the hospital in Stockton 30 miles from home he was able to go home on April 13th. After being home for only 5 days Rex was taken back to the hospital April 18th by ambulance due complications following his surgery. Luckily the first 3 ½ weeks of this stay were closer to home at the Kaiser hospital in Modesto. Unfortunately Rex’s condition continued to deteriorate and he was in need of more specialized care for his heart and now kidney function with that the doctors decided to move him to a specialty center in Santa Clara California, 166 miles per day from home. With that we will need to travel back and forth to Santa Clara as a family for what is planned to be a 6 month success plan. As you know traveling from the Central Valley to the Bay Area is quite the journey most days and while Mom will need to make this journey almost daily the costs are adding up quickly to have one of us there by his side as he makes the necessary progress to come home.

Weeks before his heart attack Mom and Dad started what they knew would be a long process of remodeling their kitchen a normal “project” for dad and while most of the demolition was complete prior to the heart attack it has left the house on hold while we all care support Dad in his healing. We would really like to be able to afford to first and foremost be there to support dad daily and your support will help with gas, food and hotel stays as necessary and paying for the continued health insurance to treat him(which is now an out of pocket expense). Secondarily we would like to finish the “kitchen project” so that when dad is able to come home it is to a finished and ready home.
